The Diversity and Inclusion League Climate Survey

In the spring of 2020, the WFTDA’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee began to prepare a survey that would give the Committee insight into the everyday experiences of individuals within their home Member Leagues. This survey, The Diversity and Inclusion League Climate Survey is an effort to gather information about perceptions of diversity, equity, and discrimination in our Member Leagues, as well as gauge incidents of exclusionary conduct (bullying, harassment, etc.), and non-consensual behavior experienced by individuals.

As part of ongoing initiatives to address racism and discrimination in member leagues, we are releasing this survey today in hopes that the results will better inform the work of the Committee going forward, as well as be useful to Member Leagues as they build better and more equitable experiences for their memberships.

We are extremely grateful to those who have brought issues to our attention previously, both publicly and privately, and for the community’s attention over the past few weeks. We hope that this survey provides an opportunity for more of our members to share their experiences in order to provide better resources to address issues of discrimination.

Following the closing of the survey, the results will be provided directly to the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and used to gain a better understanding of the general climate across derby leagues globally. A summary report will also be provided to the general public, internal WFTDA working groups, as well as broadcast in a TBD format through Quad Media.

The survey should take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete and can be accessed by a desktop computer or mobile device.

You will find the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/div_inc2020

The survey will be open until July 17th, 2020.

The survey is completely anonymous and confidential; while the survey does ask for some demographic information for reporting purposes, this is completely optional. No personally-identifying information, such as name or email address, will be collected. If you have questions about the survey and/or the data collected, please email diversity@wftda.com.
